Schedule of Talks for PHYS120
Below I list all talks that I am aware of. Please check that the date
and title of your talk agrees with what you thought. Make sure you meet
with the Professor who is advising you on your topic at least one week
before your talk. It is your responsibility to set up an appointment.
You should have a complete outline of your talk ready, and all material
that you are planning to present. Remember, you have 10 minutes for
your presentation, plus 5 minutes for questions from the audience. You
should plan for no more than 10 slides with information on them; the
first slide should contain your title, your name and affiliation, and a
short list of topics you will talk about. The last slide should contain
a summary and your sources. Give yourself or friends as many dry runs
as you can to make sure you can finish in time.
You can use overhead slides or a powerbook presentation - in the latter
case you must "warn us" ahead of time so we can organize the projector
and whatever else you might need. The talks will take place in our
regular class room. Also, remember that your final papers are due
at the beginning of the second day of talks, December 12!

"Physics Success Stories"
(Applications of Physics)
The American Physical Society has
many interesting web pages to look at (and you are strongly encouraged
to become members!). In particular, have a look at the "Physical Review Focus" website,
which summarizes recently published original results in Physics for the
scientifically interested public (YOU!).
