Our research has two distinct, but related goals: to improve our knowledge of the internal structure of hadrons (nucleons and pions), and to better understand the nucleonic structure of the deuteron and the heavier nuclei. In both cases, we probe hadronic and nuclear structure electromagnetically. Most of our experiments are conducted at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab or Jefferson Lab) where we are (co-)spokespersons of 11 approved experiments. We have already made major contributions to the equipment, software and physics of all three Halls and we will continue to focus the time and resources of our group on the production of high quality physics at Jefferson Lab. In addition, we also study nucleon structure at SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator Center) and MAMI (Mainz Microtron).
Here is a PowerPoint talk (given on November 14, 2002) describing the highlights of our program.
