POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE
EXPERIMENTAL NUCLEAR AND PARTICLE PHYSICS
OLD DOMINION UNIVERSITY

The Old Dominion University Experimental Nuclear Physics group is seeking a postdoctoral associate to help lead experiments at the nearby Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) and at other facilities. The group (consisting of Profs. M. Amarian, G. Dodge, C. Hyde-Wright, S. Kuhn, P. Ulmer and L. Weinstein) is one of the largest research groups at Jefferson Lab. We are leading experiments on real and virtual Compton scattering, deuteron structure, and polarization transfer in few-body systems using Hall A and on nucleon-nucleon correlations and nucleon structure functions using CLAS. We are also helping prepare the physics program and detector development for the future upgrade of Jefferson lab to 12 GeV. For more information, see http://www.physics.odu.edu/nucexpt/index.html. A PhD in experimental nuclear or particle physics or related field is required. The position is for one year initially, but may be renewed upon mutual agreement. Submit a letter of application and curriculum vita, and arrange for three letters of reference to be sent directly to the Old Dominion University Research Foundation, P. O. Box 6369, Norfolk, VA 23508 or odurfjobs@odu.edu. Screening of applicants will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled. Specify job #04059. AA/EEO
