Laboratory Information

Participation in the laboratory section of Physics 232N/227N is mandatory. The grade of the laboratory section contributes 15% to the course grade. Failing the laboratory section leads to failure of the entire course.

A missed laboratory session can be made up only in the same week and only if both instructors involved do agree. Besides the above listed 232N and 227N sessions, also 112N sessions can be considered for the make up session. One unexcused absence from a laboratory session is allowed and can be made up. More than one unexcused laboratory session results in failure of the course.

Laboratory Reports

Data taken during the experiments should be recorded in the laboratory manual and on additional paper if needed. The laboratory instructors will check the recorded data and sign them during the session.

Laboratory reports need to be submitted by a due date given by the instructor. The original data sheets need to be submitted together with the reports. Details on how to prepare the reports and due dates will be discussed in the laboratory sessions by your instructor.
