Security Tools
- Malicious Software Removal Tool from Microsoft (scan and clean computers running Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003 for infections by specific, prevalent malicious softwareincluding Blaster, Sasser, and Mydoom - and helps remove any infection found)
- Symantec Security Check tests your computer's exposure to online security threats
Security Scan performs the following tests: Hacker Exposure Check (checks whether your computer allows unknown or unauthorized Internet communications), Windows Vulnerability Check (checks whether basic information about your computer, including your PC's network identity, is exposed to hackers), Trojan Horse Check (checks whether your computer is safe from Trojan horses), Antivirus Product Check (checks whether you're protected by a commonly-used virus protection product), Virus Protection Update Check (checks whether you're safe from the latest viruses. Applicable if you have a virus protection product)
Virus Detection identifies any known threats infecting your system.
- McAfee AVERT Stinger is a stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist administrators and users when dealing with an infected system.
- PC Flank offers varying levels of test - from quick to advanced.
