Theoretical Mechanics (PHYSICS 451/551) - Fall Semester 1999
- ODU
-
This Fall, this course is being offered as "guided individual study" course.
You are expected to read the book chapters assigned by me and work the
homework problems. You need to meet with me at least once every week to
assess your progress and help with questions. You also will need to show
me your solutions for the homework.
-
Meeting time: Students taking 451/551 need
to meet with me every week to discuss their progress and turn in their
homework. You can come to my new office hours,
Wednesdays and Fridays 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. (Room 0223 OCNPS), or you
can find me at the "Learning
Center" (room 142) Wednesdays from 2:00 - 3:00 (especially if you have
questions or problems with the text and the assignments). You can also
frequently find me in the Nuclear and Particle Physics Research Facility
(NaPPRF) on 1021 47th St. (across Hampton Blvd. from the main campus).
-
The first meeting of the semester should be next TUESDAY, 9/7 at NaPPRF
(around noon) or WEDNESDAY, 9/8, during my office hour/Learning Center
duty. Please make sure to meet me (use email to set up a meeting if you
can't meet me at the times listed).
Physics Colloquium
Colloquia will be held every FRIDAY afternoon, at 3:00 p.m. Please plan
to attend!
