Walton A. Hooks
Operations Manager and Assistant Chair

 

 

Mr. Hooks came to Old Dominion University after a 24 year career in the United States Navy, retiring as an MCPO. His speciality was Guided Missiles Fire Control systems, which included tracking and guidance radar, 3-D air search radar and computer systems. He served aboard various ships and as an instructor as the Naval Guided Missiles School. He completed his BA from Thomas Edison College and an MA from Old Dominion University while on active duty.

He began his career in the Physics Department as a Laboratory Instrument Maker and after some years in this position and completion of an MBA, was given an FP appointment as Operations Manager with the faculty rank of Professional Instructor.
